Experimenting with Washi tape

Had a bit of a play with Washi tape yesterday.  Made these two cards but ummm – not sure whether this style is me!

Which one do you like best or perhaps you don’t like either? Anyway it was fun just playing.

Hope you have fun this weekend.

Monthly Card Cafe

My upline, Karen Rogers and I started having a Card Cafe on a Monday morning a couple of months ago.  Our most recent one was held last Monday at 10 am and this is the card our guests made.

This lovely card was cased from one made by Vicky Hayes.  The only difference is the card base & flower colours.  Vicky did her card using Basic Black, I used Midnight Muse.  Wish my photo came out as clear as hers so do hope you can see the scoring lines, both vertically and horizontally.  As this card was smaller than the usual card sizes, they also made a matching tag for a parcel.

These Card Cafe sessions are lovely – guests get to make one card and have a coffee or tea and biscuits.  A great way to introduce people to cardmaking.  If you would like to come to the July session, please ring me and book.

Enjoy your weekend.

Fun with MDS

Here are a couple of projects I have done using My Digital Studio.

The first is a card.  Not fully MDS but the background is and then I have attached this layer to a card and manually added some more elements.

My second offering is this digital scrapbooking page:

My 1st layout-001

Enjoy!

A cup of tea?

I bought the Tea Shoppe stamp set some time ago and had never got around to using it!  Now I see that it is retiring and thought I should use it before this set became obsolete.

My design skills are very lacking recently, nothing seems to turn out the way I envisage it but here are the two cards I have made for your judgement and suggestions.

I’m still trying to find the right place to do my photography.  Just need to get the lighting better organised.

Thanks for looking.

Spotlight Technique

Last Friday night I went to a class at Karen’s where she demonstrated the Spotlight Technique and we made the following two lovely cards.

I was very pleased with the way these two cards worked out.

Can’t make up my mind as to which is my favourite. They are both great.

Convention Swaps

So many swaps to get and not enough made by me!

Here are some of the swaps from our group:

This is the card that I made as a swap.  It is in Cherry Cobbler, Black and White cardstock.

I have used the gorgeous flower from the Blooming with Kindness stamp set.

This gorgeous card was made by Karen Rogers – a lovely underwater scene.

Sally Williams made this really attractive side spring card.  Just look at that beautiful flower.

Such a lot of work has gone into making this beautiful card.  Donna Blackmore put a lot of time and effort in this.

Thanks heaps you lovely ladies.  Hopefully I will get my other swaps photographed and put on my blog for you all to see.

Thanks for looking.

Best of … Flowers

Isn’t it great that we are now able to buy these memorable sets – a new one being released each month for Stampin’ Up’s 25th Anniversary year.

I was very lucky at the Brisbane Convention to get this set at Prize Patrol at the recent convention in Brisbane.  The stamps are a lot smaller than the original ones but very, very cute!  Here are a couple of birthday cards I have made using this set.

I quite (just quite) like the one on the left but don’t like the one on the right – seem to have got lost and ran out of ideas when making it.

Can’t wait to see what Best of Stamp Set is being released next month.

Hope you are enjoying a crafting Queen’s Birthday weekend.

Thanks for popping in to catch up on what is happening in my life. I enjoy sharing my love of stamping and cardmaking and invite you to have a look at the projects I have made. You are welcome to take my ideas and use them in your own creations.
