A Fresh Cuts birthday

Another family birthday, this time my eldest daughter Nicky (really Nicola but she prefers the shortened version while deep down I prefer Nicola, that’s why I chose it!)

Now if you are reading this Nicky then please take note – can you just stop the birthday lark as each time you are a year older it makes me feel positively ancient!

Joking aside, Dad and I wish you a fab birthday.

IMG_0692This card is done in white, red and black – I think a real classy combination of colours.  Stamp sets used are SU Fresh Cuts and It’s your Birthday. I have finished it off with SU ribbon and the pearl pin has been made up using the SU Pretties Kit.

Fairy Wishes

My great-niece Toni turns 9 on Friday so I have made her this card knowing that she is a girl who really loves pretty things and I thought she would enjoy this fairy stamp (another of Leslie’s stamped images she sent me.)

IMG_0715 You probably can’t tell from the photo but I have cut out the fairy then mounted it on the Sage Shadow cardstock and cut again to give a 3D effect then mounted using stampin’ dimensionals.

Hope Toni likes it and has a lovely day.

What a busy couple of weeks …

It has been really busy the last couple of weeks but I did manage to meet up with my youngest daughter last Thursday for her birthday lunch. She also is so busy and with living down country, we don’t get together as much as I would like.

Anyway, happiest of birthdays Kim.  This is the card I made for her.

Can’t remember the recipe!!!

That will teach me that I should write it down as I am making the card.  I obviously used my SU eyelet border punch though!  Gives a card such a lovely frilly, feminine feel to it.

Janet’s Corrosive Challenge #19 – Summer Fun

IMG_0709 Janet has some neat ideas for her challenges. Thought I would make this card using summer colours – Summer Sun, Cool Carribean and Pacific Point. Stamp is from Stampin’Up’s Summer by the Sea (retired) set. Love, love this set but I am not about to relinquish it any time soon.

I have also used the Sandy Shells (retired) wheel on the right hand edge of the card.

Photo makes the Summer Sun cardstock and ribbon look a bit orangey. Have decided that this colour combination isn’t really me, but it is good to try something different for a change.

Can you help?

Is there anyone out there knowledgable about Blog templates. I appear to have a problem with mine in that in Mozilla Firefox (which I use) although the layout is reasonably good, if you just open one post on its own rather than the blog itself, it appears at the bottom of the page, i.e. aligns at the bottom, rather than the top.

I have checked the html as much as I am able with my limited knowledge, and only found one instance where it said ‘align bottom’.  I replaced this with álign top’ hoping this was the problem but it made no visible difference so I changed it back to the original setting.

I then checked it using IE – fine, an individual post lines up correctly at the top of the page but sometimes the content overlaps the right and left edges of the template.

This is really annoying me and I don’t want to change my template as I really like this one, so – any suggestions?

Thanks

My SBS sister Leslie's birthday

My lovely blogging sister Leslie had a birthday recently so I thought I would make her a card using one of the stamped images she so kindly sent to me.

Isn't she cute! Haven't seen these stamps in New Zealand but they do seem very popular in other countries.

I used this image with stamps from my Stampin' Up set - Simply Said - perfect combination don't you think?

Whoo hoo ...

TJ award My youngest grandson was awarded a lovely wooden shield for having completed 100 hours of drama lessons.  This is a photo of him proudly displaying his award:

IMG_0689Couldn't resist sending him a congratulatory card.  The inside of this card says: "Whoo hoo - who is a clever boy".

Well done Tyler.

Thanks for popping in to catch up on what is happening in my life. I enjoy sharing my love of stamping and cardmaking and invite you to have a look at the projects I have made. You are welcome to take my ideas and use them in your own creations.
