Good news

Went to the hospital for my oncology check-up.  Everything is still looking fine and my CA125 levels are sitting within the normal range though I would still like to see them lower than they are but my latest op apparently may be the reason why they haven't come down any more from my last visit.  Never mind, it's all good.

Thanks for all the lovely comments and I only wish your hopes that this would be my last visit could be true but the reality is that I am still considered to be high risk for a recurrence, particularly more so since I have now had one recurrence although that was four years after the original cancer.  Fallopian and Ovarian cancers are a chronic disease that can come back at any time but naturally I am hoping that it will never come back again.

This means that I will probably end up going for regular checks probably for the rest of my life - two to three monthly for the first 2-3 years then six monthly but at least I know I am being regularly monitored.

All that aside I am fine right now, actually feeling the best I have felt for a long time and ... I'm off on holiday early Friday morning to Brisbane for three weeks.  It's funny though, I feel a bit nervous about being away from home for such a long period.  Guess when you've been laid up for a long period of time you get a sense of security being in your own home but guess this will pass once we are on our way and I know that the three weeks will probably just fly by.

I'll post once we get home and will bore you all with photos and commentary on our travels.

In the meantime all take care and happy crafting.

Check these out .....

Well this is to bring you up to date with what I have been making lately.  As you can see I have been spending quite a bit of time 'playing' over the last week or so.  Bliss!!

These are all birthday cards - May/June are busy birthday months for me.  Also as I am going away for 3 weeks, had to do a lot in advance.

I also had fun making some boxed sets of cards - I originally did these at one of Karen's classes but as I didn't have the same stamp set I substituted but think that they look quite good still.  The first picture is of the two boxes and the next two pictures show the four cards inside (4 cards to each box).  The fourth picture is a boxed set of eight thank you cards that I have made for my niece in Brisbane who is having her 21st birthday while we are over there and I thought it would be nice for her to be able to send these out to special friends and family afterwards.

So you see, I have been busy.  I am going on Wednesday to an Oncology check-up so will let you all know how I get on. I'm hopeful of getting a clean bill of health!!

Feast or famine ...

Yes, that's what it seems to be with me. Either I don't do much stamping and blogging for a while, or I do a lot! As it turns out I have been doing a lot of creating recently so you will see more posts on my blog over the next few days.

Just to whet your appetite (I hope), here's one card I recently made using the Inspired by Nature set.

Please excuse the shadow on this photo - in fact, I apologise for the terrible photography. I really must try to get to know my camera and take better photos in the future!

Really proud of the pinning I did around the edge!

I have actually done quite a few more things but haven't got around to photographing them as yet so that will be my opportunity to experiment and get some better shots.

Only another nine days and I'm away on holiday - hooray.

Thanks for the lovely surprise Leslie

One of my sweet blogging sisters Leslie sent me this gorgeous card and stamped images (pictured below).  What a fantastic surprise when I cleared my mail box and opened my mail to find these.  It really made a beautiful day even more beautiful!IMG_0516

So many lovely images to play with that I don't know which one to start with!  As I am busy getting ready to go to Australia for a 3 week holiday (at long last!!) and have several stamping projects already on the go that have to be completed before then, guess I will have to wait a while before I can have a play around with them.

I don't think we are able to purchase these stamps in New Zealand so feel very lucky to be able to try them out.

Once I am back I will also see what images I can send to Leslie that she may enjoy.

Thanks, thanks, thanks Leslie.  I'm certainly lucky to have such wonderful blogging sisters.

Thanks for popping in to catch up on what is happening in my life. I enjoy sharing my love of stamping and cardmaking and invite you to have a look at the projects I have made. You are welcome to take my ideas and use them in your own creations.
