Messy fingers

Had a lot of fun at Karen’s recently making 3D type cards using Crysal Effects and Reinkers.  You have to use a different finger for each colour you swirled into the Crystal Effects resulting in very messy fingers indeed!  These were the results of my messy endeavours:

The next day thought I would experiment using the same technique on vellum but found even though the effect looked nice – more muted though – the vellum tended to crinkle and I was unable to flatten it out again.  Anyway this is the finished card.

You must admit it does look effective though.

Hope your week is going well.

A Simple Mixed Bunch

This is the first card I have made using my new Mixed Bunch stamp set and the
the punch from the Autumn/Winter mini catalogue. IMG_2335

I have kept this card clean and simple as I feel the flower is in itself a feature that does not need embellishing.  I have used the unusual colour combination of Regal Rose and River Rock but think they have complimented each other very well. I have also incorporated pinning to set off the words and flower.

I think I am going to get a lot of use from this stamp set and punch and hope to be able to show you some other examples in future.

Hope everyone here in New Zealand is keeping warm and dry in this horrible weather.  Roll on summer  …..

Happy, happy birthdays

Yes, two birthdays.  My daughters Nicky and Kim have their birthdays only 9 days apart though there is two years age difference.

The first one with a July birthday is Kim and this was her card:

I am still loving the antique look and in this card have embossed and then gilded with gold.  I have used the Nature Walk stamp set.  Thought Kim would enjoy this card as she is a country and outdoor girl.

The next one with a July birthday is Nicky my eldest daughter.

Nicky loves feminine, dainty things so using a card we made at Debbie’s as inspiration, made her this card.

I do love red, black and cream together – so sophisticated but feminine.

Hope you both enjoyed your birthday dinner last night.  Love you xxx

Have a wonderful week of crafting everyone.

Need for Speed 21st

My grandson Matthew who recently turned 21 definitely has an inbuilt ‘need for speed’.  Loves anything that goes fast – motorbikes, cars, even his computer has to be the fastest he can get it.  I posted the scrapbooking pages I made him for his 21st party a couple of weeks ago but only saw him to give him the rest of his present and card last night when my husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner and evening with our two daughters, son-in-laws, 4 grandsons and Matthew’s girlfriend who I met for the first time.  This was a combined celebration because Kim had her birthday last Monday and Nicky will be having her birthday on Wednesday.  I will be posting their cards later.

In keeping with Matthew’s love of speed, here is the card I made him:

The silver, black and red really look great.  I was pleased with how this turned out.  Hope he enjoys it too.

Nature Walk Sympathy card

Are you like me and find it very hard to come up with a concept for a sympathy card?  It needs to be quiet and reassuring, not loud and over the top.  As soon as I saw this one by Selena Kempton I knew I would have to CASE it.

It has a soft tranquil feel about it – blue always does that for me.  Think this is a design I will be using again.

I have used the Nature Walk stamp set – such a lovely versatile set.

Have a few more cards to show you later – so be patient!!

Thanks for popping in to catch up on what is happening in my life. I enjoy sharing my love of stamping and cardmaking and invite you to have a look at the projects I have made. You are welcome to take my ideas and use them in your own creations.
